Nature experiences in Ibiza

5 unique nature experiences in Ibiza

Insider tips from the owners of Finca Can Marti

1. Hilltop walk: The hidden route to Puig des Fornas

For one of the most stunning panoramic views of Ibiza, take this lesser-known hilltop trail. Start from Finca Can Marti and drive through the charming village of Sant Joan towards Cala San Vicente. Just before the road starts descending, turn right onto an unpaved path. Park your car and follow the trail upwards. The hike is moderately challenging, but at the top of Puig des Fornas, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree view of the island and the Mediterranean.

This is a perfect spot for sunrise hikes, where the early morning light paints the landscape in golden hues, making the effort well worth it.

2. Es Portixol: A secret bay for adventurers

A secluded cove with crystal-clear water, Es Portixol is a dream location for those seeking tranquility and a bit of adventure. Drive to Isla Blanca and park your car. From there, walk towards the coast and look for a small footpath on the left that follows the cliffs. The path winds down through rugged terrain, opening up to a hidden bay with turquoise waters—ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and simply soaking in the serenity.

Because this spot is only accessible on foot, it remains largely untouched. Pack light but don’t forget water, as there are no facilities nearby.

3. The hidden route to Cala Xarraca

Cala Xarraca is one of Ibiza’s most picturesque beaches, but few people know about the scenic walking trail leading to it. Instead of driving directly to the beach, start your walk from Sant Joan. Just in front of the post office, a small path winds through the countryside, passing a rustic house and eventually descending toward the sea.

The journey is enchanting, as you wander through fragrant pine forests and catch glimpses of the coastline. Upon arrival, reward yourself with a dip in Cala Xarraca’s calm waters, where natural mud baths are said to have healing properties.

4. Sunset views at Moonbeach

While many head to Ibiza’s famous sunset spots like Café del Mar, there’s something special about experiencing nature’s evening show in a secluded setting. Drive towards Portinatx and, just before descending all the way down the valley, turn left towards Es Caló de S’Illa. Park your car and follow the narrow footpath leading toward the offshore island.

From this viewpoint, you’ll witness one of Ibiza’s most stunning sunset views, with the sea reflecting hues of orange, pink, and violet. The beauty of this place is its tranquility—just you, the horizon, and the sound of waves.

5. Medieval tower at Pou des Lleo

For a mix of history and natural beauty, visit Torre d’en Valls, a medieval watchtower overlooking Ibiza’s eastern coast. Drive to Pou des Lleo and park near Chiringuito Pou des Lleo. From there, take the walking path past Salvadó restaurant and continue uphill.

Once at the tower, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the deep blue sea stretching endlessly before you. This was once a lookout point to warn of pirate attacks, and today, it stands as a reminder of Ibiza’s rich history. It’s an ideal spot for a picnic or a quiet moment of reflection.

After your adventure, unwind at Finca Can Marti
